  AIPAM is a member of FEMAS, the Federation of European Maritime Associations of Surveyors and Consultants.
  During the latest AGM of this organization, held in Paris at the end od 2010, I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Paul Owen, (pictured) Secretary of the Federation.
  
  Paul, may you tell us something about FEMAS?
  FEMAS is a federation of maritime associations. In 1988 the Vice President of VESW, the Society of Marine Surveyors and Consulting Engineers in the Netherlands with their secretary conceived the idea that it would be prudent for the various national societies to form a federation in order that the voice of European marine consultants and European ship surveyors could be heard in international forums in
